Real-time Estimation for the
Year’s Maximum Pensionable Earnings (YMPE)

Your early warning system for next year's CPP numbers

Estimate of the maximum employee and employer portion of CPP contributions for 2027 (self-employed individuals contribute twice these amounts):

  • Base CPP = $3,477.00
  • 1st Additional CPP = $732
  • 2nd Additional CPP = $428

Therefore, the total maximum CPP contribution for 2027 is $4,637.00.  If your 2027 income equals or exceeds $87,400, your contribution into the CPP will be $4,637.00.  The Base CPP contribution rate for 2027 is assumed to be lowered to 4.75% per proposed legislation.

Estimate of the ‘full credit’ monthly CPP retirement pension:

  • Base CPP = $1,490.42
  • 1st Additional CPP = $70.76*
  • 2nd Additional CPP = $17.23*

Therefore the total ‘full credit’ CPP retirement pension is $1,578.41 per month.

* Only applicable when January is the month chosen by a beneficiary to start their CPP retirement pension (See table below).  Since the introduction of the Enhanced CPP, the ‘full credit’ monthly amount for a CPP retirement pension actually increases each month over the year.  Learn more here.
